Essentially, it consists of two single-basket filters (which can be fitted with mesh baskets or filter bags) connected in parallel, switching between active and standby modes via a three-way valve.
Advantages
• Continuous operation without shutdown: One side can be cleaned or the filter media replaced while the other side remains in operation, making it ideal for 24-hour continuous production lines.
• Compact structure: Sanitary-grade 316L mirror-polished construction meets dairy hygiene requirements.
• Flexible filtration accuracy: Simply change the inner filter bag or mesh screen to adjust the filtration grade.
Disadvantages
• Higher initial purchase cost compared to a single-bag filter (due to an additional valve set and housing).
• Limited precision with metal mesh screens: If a metal mesh screen is installed, the filtration accuracy can only reach tens of microns or above, making fine filtration impossible.
• Larger footprint compared to a single-bag filter.
Suitable for: Raw milk receiving filtration, process water pretreatment, and coarse filtration stations requiring continuous, uninterrupted production.
